About Us

A Cantwell institution since 1974

We're not a chain. We're not trying to be. Cantwell Lodging and Longhorn Saloon has been welcoming travelers, hunters, fishermen, and anyone who needs a place to rest their boots on the Denali Highway for over fifty years.

Our rooms are clean, comfortable, and honestly priced. The saloon — well, the saloon is the reason some people drive all the way from Fairbanks just to drop by. Wood floors. A pool table that's seen better decades. And a barkeep who knows your name by the second visit.

Whether you're passing through or staying a while, we'll make sure you sleep well and eat right.

The Longhorn Saloon

The best cold beer
for a hundred miles

Step inside and you'll find wood-paneled walls, a pool table that's been there since the 80s, and a bar that pours as fast as it pours cold. This is where the Denali Highway comes to unwind.

Breakfast specials in the morning. Burger and beer nights on the week. Live music when someone with a guitar happens through town. The saloon is open to non-guests — you don't need to be staying with us to grab a seat at the bar.
